Paintings from Years past

A Window To A Choice

At the time, I was struggling with a big decision that I needed to make. This painting is of a view of the outside through a cabin’s front door window. The path forward slightly obscured and curved through the snow and fog, yet the path is marked out and a signpost delineates the available paths ahead. The subtle hints of frost visible at the raised corners are intended to portray the glass and the first step not yet taken towards the difficult choice.

Treacherous Path

During the creation of this painting, I had taken a bold stance and hit the ground running after making a tough decision. It ended in a crash and a cold reminder that this was only the beginning of future difficulties. A carful approach is needed and there are bigger challenges to come. Though the challenges are daunting and the path treacherous, if taken slowly and given respectfully, the future may still be beautiful. However, though the looming goal has its beauty, it is important to also prepare for greater difficulties when there.

This painting is a reminder of these concepts and more. It is humbling and inspiring to me.

Spring Walk

This piece was made during a small vacation. A respite during the long journey towards my goal. It was a time to look forward while taking a breath that I appetited to relay through this piece.

Galactic Splash

Not all my paintings are deep in meaning. This painting for example is a fun attempt at recreating the nights sky with a splash of color. This is an acrylic pour that I created after seeing the trend in online videos. I had a blast and think it turned out well.
